Getting started with Sellforte MMM onboarding

This article guides you through the MMM onboarding with Sellforte.

Welcome to Sellforte MMM onboarding! 🎉

You’ve been in touch with the Sellforte sales team and are now ready to start the MMM onboarding — great to have you on board!

We’re excited to begin the onboarding with you. To prepare your MMM results and enable you to use them to optimize your marketing, there are a few important steps we’ll go through together.

This article guides you through those steps and explains what to expect and what will happen before your MMM results are ready and available for use. Let's get started!


1. Accessing your Sellforte environment

When onboarding starts, we'll set up a dedicated Sellforte environment for you, and grant you access to it. You will receive an email with an access link to your inbox. Use the link to create your credentials, and log in to your environment. At this point, the MMM results will not yet be available in the UI, but we’ll get there!

If you experience any issues logging in, please contact your Sellforte contact person.


2. Connecting your data sources

The first step in the Sellforte MMM onboarding is to connect and deliver all data required for modeling.

Sellforte MMM requires two main types of data: marketing activity data and business outcome data.

  • Marketing activity data describes what marketing actions have been taken (for example, campaign data from your ad accounts).

  • Business outcome data describes how your business has performed (such as daily sales, revenue, or orders).

In addition to these, Sellforte also uses attribution data, such as GA4 or Adobe Analytics, which is used to calibrate the MMM model in line with the Next Gen Marketing Mix Modeling approach.

This data can be delivered in three different ways, outlined below. Also, at this point, feel free to read more about our data security.


2.1 Connecting digital data via Sellforte built-in connectors

Sellforte provides built-in connectors for connecting your digital advertising platforms and other relevant data sources.

In your Sellforte environment, go to Data > Connectors, and connect all advertising, analytics and ecommerce accounts that are relevant in terms of the modelling.

2.2 Granting partner access to ad platforms (Meta & TikTok)

Sellforte is a measurement partner of Meta and TikTok. In addition to connecting Meta and TikTok Ads through built-in connectors, it's important that you grant us partner access to the platforms.

This enables us to measure the effectiveness of your Meta and TikTok activity in the best possible way. You can grant us Read-Only partner access by following these instructions:


2.3 Custom data delivery

If you:

  • run Offline media, such as TV, OOH, Radio

  • some of your data sources are not supported by Sellforte built-in connectors

  • your business data is stored in a data warehouse

Custom data delivery may be required. Please let your Sellforte contact person know, and let's discuss the exact steps on how to integrate custom data. In addition to built-in connectors and partner accesses, Sellforte supports multiple different data delivery methods, you can find them here:


3. Data processing and model setup

After all data sources are available, Sellforte will start setting up the MMM model. We start by validating, cleaning, and preparing the data for the model.


4. Data validation

Once the data is reviewed and prepared in our end, we’ll reach out to you, and ask you to review it with us to confirm that all relevant marketing and business data is included and correct from your perspective, and nothing crucial is missing.

5. Model calibration

After you have checked that data looks good, we calibrate the MMM model to ensure it accurately reflects your business dynamics. Once this phase is completed, the model is ready for results review.

6. Results available in the Sellforte environment

Once the model results are ready, they will be released to the same Sellforte environment you accessed earlier. We’ll notify you when the results are available, and you can start exploring them directly in the UI!

7. UI tutorial and results walkthrough

We also recommend a short UI Tutorial & Results Walkthrough Session (approximately 30 minutes) with your Sellforte contact person.

In this session, we will:

  • Walk you through the Sellforte user interface

  • Explain the key results and insights

  • Show how to use Sellforte in practice

We’ll contact you to schedule a suitable time for the session.
